Metamora Softball Drops Game to Dunlap After Late Score

Metamora (11-18) stayed in it until the end, but Dunlap pulled away late in a 4-1 victory on a slightly windy Thursday afternoon in Dunlap. The game was tied at one with Dunlap batting in the bottom of the fifth when there was an error, scoring two runs.

Rachel Barrington earned the win in the circle for the Eagles. She tossed a complete game, giving up one run, three hits, striking out two, and walking none. Kaylee Hieronymus took the loss for Metamora. She went six innings, allowing four runs, five hits, and striking out three.

Riley Beltramea, Anna Barrow, and Madi Vancil each managed one hit to lead the Redbird offense.

Barrington went 3-for-3 at the plate as she led the Eagles with one run batted in.

Metamora’s next game is Tuesday, May 16th, at 7:00 pm. They host the Pekin Dragons for Senior Night.

Postseason Pairings also recently came out. Metamora is in the Peoria Notre Dame Regional, which features (2) Alleman, (3) Pontiac, (5) Notre Dame, (10) Richwoods. Metamora is the 6-seed and takes on Richwoods at Metamora in a Regional Quarterfinal at 4:30 pm on May 22nd.
